There are many reasons for headaches. It is important to do a process of elimination in order to find the cause of your headaches. On the days that you have a headache it is a good idea to journal the days activities as well as food you have eaten and the days events. Be sure to list if you had enough sleep, neck pain or mental overload. Identification is the key to your next move.
My daughter at 19 years old suffers from stress headaches. She is learning she does have control over them. She is in college and has a full-time job working with children. She is also a perfectionist. This state of constant mental motion is stress overload. It is easy to overlook that a very busy life that is overstimulated can and will cause headaches. With breathing exercises and awareness my daughter is learning to control her headaches. When we are in constant motion from morning to night we tax the bodies adrenaline and other chemicals that regulate balance in the body.
Make sure you are breathing throughout the day. It may sound simple but most people in this fast-paced lifestyle are shallow breathing. They are getting less oxygen and muscles tighten. This causes tension and restricts blood flow. Learn to listen to your body take deep breath‘s throughout the day.

Short term occasional headaches are typically caused by tension, nerves, stress, lack of sleep, too much of or withdrawal from a stimulant (such as caffeine), pulled muscles of the neck, strained eyes, a virus or bacteria, or dehydration. More severe headaches and migraines may be caused by toxins, yeast, hormonal, blood pressure or pH imbalance, poor circulation, misalignment of the vertebrae in the neck or a mineral deficiency. Bringing the body back into balance is the best way to gain permanent relief.
The position on your head where you get a headache can indicate the root cause as well as the timing (e.g. if you get a headache around your menses, it may indicate a calcium deficiency).
For some, massaging the four sinus points on your face with essential oils may bring relief for sinus congestion. The pressure point LI-4, also called Hegu, located between the base of your thumb and index finger can provide a good response to pain.
